Meet the site
Marine Life Network lists two iron wrecks in the Pelsaert Group. The Ben Ledi, lost in 1879, lies east of Pelsaert Island in 2-6 m, with iron frames, plating, anchors and chains; the wreck is visible from the air at low tide and can only be dived in calm weather. The Windsor, lost in 1908, lies in about 3 m at S 28° 59.26', E 113° 55.98' with its boiler above the surface and a windlass, propeller and plating nearby; the site is in heavy seas and accessible on very few days.
Both are shallow, coral-encrusted iron wrecks that add history to a southern Abrolhos itinerary when the weather allows. Further details of the vessels were not found in the sources read.
