Useful information starts with honest evidence.
YouDive brings together Australian diving locations, businesses and independent learning material. This page explains what the labels mean and where further confirmation is needed.
Sources and review are different
- Sources checked
- A reference has been consulted for the stated subject. This does not mean every claim on the page has been independently verified, or that the reference remains current.
- Instructor review pending
- The educational material has not completed independent qualified-instructor review. Reading it does not establish practical competence or award a qualification.
- Record updated
- A directory record changed. The date is not a site-access inspection, a conditions report or confirmation that a business is operating today.
- Contact details checked
- The recorded contact information was checked at the stated time. It does not verify every service or a future trip schedule.
Educational scope
Our lessons explain concepts and help readers prepare questions for formal training. We do not issue diving certifications, reproduce agency examinations or present reading as a substitute for supervised practice. Agency pages cover selected courses; they are not complete official catalogues.
Safety and medical subjects require particular care. Follow the review status on the individual page. A named reviewer and their qualifications will appear only when that review has actually been completed and attribution is authorised. No reviewer should be inferred from a source link or agency name.
Directory evidence
Site depths, access descriptions, operator relationships and map positions come from recorded research. Read the original source and any access notice before relying on a detail. Approximate locations are for orientation, not navigation. A low-confidence or missing field is an unresolved question, not permission to substitute a guess.
Business descriptions and service listings are not endorsements. Comparison cards explain their selection basis; they do not establish quality, availability or an equivalent service.
Illustrations and photographs
YouDive uses AI-assisted mascot artwork and illustrative scenes. These are not evidence of a site's appearance, wildlife, equipment configuration or current conditions. Original teaching graphics are conceptual explanations. Documentary images should carry a location, attribution and appropriate usage permission; an illustration must not be labelled as a field photograph.
Corrections and conflicting evidence
When researching a discrepancy, keep the page URL, exact statement, proposed correction, source URL and date together. Access notices should be checked with the responsible authority; trips and contact details should be checked with the relevant operator. Do not assume a disputed fact is confirmed while it is being investigated.
A public correction-submission service is not available yet. Contact the listed operator or authority directly for time-sensitive access and booking questions. We do not offer emergency assistance through this website.
Dates and original work
Editorial dates should reflect substantive work, not an automatic refresh intended to make old information appear new. Original examples are labelled as examples and must not be represented as firsthand dive reports. Sources support the facts; they do not imply an endorsement of YouDive.
