Kutti Beach is a scrap of sand at the foot of a residential street in Vaucluse, reached down a path from The Crescent, that most Sydneysiders have never heard of; Vizzbud lists it as an easy Open Water site with a sandy bottom, scattered reef and kelp patches in 5–8 m, 'suitable for beginners and macro enthusiasts' and 'a good refresher or training site'. It sits between Parsley Bay and Watsons Bay on the north-west-facing Vaucluse shore, sheltered from swell, and it shares the animals of its better-known neighbours. The kelp patches are the place to look: White's seahorses, anglerfish and nudibranchs are the notable species Vizzbud names, with stingarees on the sand, and the general harbour cast – leatherjackets, bream, luderick, old wives, cuttlefish, octopus and blue-ringed octopus – can be assumed from the adjoining sites. Depth is trivial and bottom time is limited by cold and patience. It is a snorkel, a refresher or a night dive rather than a destination, and its chief merits are shelter, ease and solitude; its chief drawbacks are residential parking, boats moored off the beach and the harbour's usual poor visibility after rain. Kutti suits beginners, families and photographers looking for a quiet alternative to Camp Cove, and it fills a gap between Parsley Bay and Watsons Bay in this survey. The only published source is Vizzbud, so depths, layout and species should be confirmed on site. For a longer dive, experienced divers can follow the shoreline rocks west toward the Parsley Bay wharf or east toward Watsons Bay, keeping within a few metres of the rocks because of the moorings and traffic; either way the return is along the same edge and the exit is the sand at Kutti.
