Stingrays, various fish, starfish and seagrass gardens are the main sights, and the reviewer saw smooth rays and groups of fish. The Margaret River region's ocean-safety guide also names the Prevelly and Yallingup lagoons as suitable for beginners.
The lagoon lies inside a limestone reef that breaks the swell, so while surfers ride the waves outside, snorkellers float in calm water behind. The bottom mixes sand, seagrass and low reef, and smooth stingrays often forage close to shore.
It suits families and beginner snorkellers, and it is a good place for visitors to get used to the Capes coast before trying more exposed sites. Scuba adds little given the depth. The traditional custodians are the Wardandi people.
