Understand the risk
Caves, wreck interiors and ice can remove a direct ascent route. Darkness, silt, entanglement and navigation errors can make retracing the route difficult. Seeing light through an opening does not make an untrained penetration appropriate.

Stay outside overhead spaces unless trained and equipped for that specific environment. Use specialist instruction to learn line skills, gas planning and team procedures. A recreational wreck tour and a penetration course have different scopes.
