Understand the risk
Agree before entry that discomfort, uncertainty or an equipment concern is enough to speak up. Requiring somebody to justify a decision underwater encourages delay at the exact moment the team needs straightforward communication.

Put the knowledge into practice
Practise saying “I am not comfortable with this plan” in the briefing. Offer alternatives without bargaining someone into continuing. After an aborted dive, discuss what changed and what would make a future attempt suitable.

Do I need to prove something is dangerous before declining?
No. Uncertainty is a valid reason to stop and seek information, practice or different conditions.
